1. Ownership of the Website
Castellverd Ecoturisme SL (hereinafter, “CAN JOU”), with registered address at Can Jou, carretera de La Miana S/N, Girona and with VAT number B56551997, is the owner of the website www.canjou.com and its subdomains (hereinafter, “CAN JOU”).
By merely using CAN JOU and browsing through it, you are considered a “User” and accept the conditions included in this legal notice. Therefore, the User agrees to read these Terms of Use carefully.
2. Definitions
The User is the person who uses CAN JOU to search for accommodation and make a reservation.
The Owner is the person or company who voluntarily lists a tourist accommodation on CAN JOU.
CAN JOU is an intermediary that publishes information about tourist accommodations available for rent and provides the tools for the User to communicate with CAN JOU’s customer service and make reservations.
3. Purpose of the Terms of Use
The purpose of these Terms of Use is to regulate the use of CAN JOU, its content, and its free or paid services for Users.
CAN JOU reserves the right to make any changes it deems appropriate to CAN JOU without prior notice, including modifying, removing, or adding content and services offered through the website.
4. Content
Opinions submitted by users are individual and subjective and are the responsibility of the User who publishes them, not CAN JOU.
CAN JOU reserves the right to suspend or remove any opinion it considers inauthentic, disrespectful, or that violates the law or these terms, and to request information from authors to verify their authenticity.
CAN JOU is not responsible for opinions published by Users, who agree not to post:
- Opinions that are not based on their own experience after staying at the accommodation.
- Defamatory, inaccurate, false, abusive, offensive, obscene, irreverent, insulting, implicitly or explicitly sexual, threatening, harassing, racist, sexist, discriminatory for any reason, contrary to morality, public order, fundamental rights, public freedoms, honor, privacy, image of third parties, current regulations, and/or illegal or infringing third-party rights.
- Commercial, false, misleading content or content promoting illegal activities or gross, threatening, obscene, defamatory, or offensive behavior.
- Personal data of third parties that would require their consent to be published.
- Duplicate opinions. Each user may only post one opinion per accommodation. In the case of group stays, only one opinion per stay will be accepted.
The User will be liable to CAN JOU or the Owner for any damages caused by breaching these rules.
CAN JOU allows the publication of positive or negative reviews of rural accommodations, but does not interfere in or guarantee the truthfulness or accuracy of such reviews.
5. Intellectual Property
The total or partial reproduction of any CAN JOU content without express written consent is strictly prohibited. Unauthorized use will give rise to legally established responsibilities.
The User agrees to make appropriate use of the content and services offered by CAN JOU, especially when publishing images, for which the User declares having the rights to use.
CAN JOU is not liable for violations committed by Users that affect third parties.
Any User who publishes content on CAN JOU grants a free, non-exclusive license to CAN JOU for the reproduction, distribution, and public communication of such content and expressly authorizes its transfer to third-party websites with which CAN JOU has agreements. The User accepts sole responsibility, releasing CAN JOU from any claims regarding copyright infringement.
6. CAN JOU’s Responsibilities
CAN JOU will only be liable for damages the User may suffer as a result of using CAN JOU when such damages are due to intentional or negligent conduct on the part of CAN JOU.
By accepting these Terms of Use, the User acknowledges that using CAN JOU is their sole responsibility, especially when posting reviews or images.
CAN JOU is not responsible for the accuracy or truthfulness of information published on the Portal and therefore will not be liable for any decisions made based on this information or for any resulting damages.
The User acknowledges that it is technically impossible to guarantee 100% availability of CAN JOU. However, CAN JOU will take all necessary steps to ensure the service is available as much as possible. CAN JOU is not responsible for damages caused by service interruptions not due to its own intentional or negligent actions.
CAN JOU is not responsible for external websites that can be accessed via links, nor for content provided by third parties. Any use of a link or access to a third-party website is done at the User’s own risk. CAN JOU does not recommend or guarantee the information obtained through a link, and will not be liable for any loss, claim, or damage resulting from its use or misuse, including from other linked websites, service interruptions, or attempts to access or misuse a link.
7. User Obligations
In addition to the previously described obligations, the User agrees to:
- Use CAN JOU in accordance with the Terms of Use.
- Provide truthful and up-to-date information.
- Not publish content contrary to these terms or current legislation.
- Not use false identities or impersonate others on CAN JOU or its services.
8. Termination
CAN JOU may suspend or cancel CAN JOU or any services offered to Users at any time without prior notice.
In any case, CAN JOU may suspend service to any User who uses it unethically, offensively, illegally, or in violation of these Terms of Use or its interests.

10. Applicable Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms of Use shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with Spanish law.
The User may take any legal action before the relevant Spanish courts located either at CAN JOU’s registered address or at the User’s place of residence, where allowed by consumer protection laws.
When the User is not considered a consumer, the competent jurisdiction will be that of CAN JOU’s registered address.
